Their tails are made of solid muscle, featuring large muscles that attach to their hips and back legs, allowing them to move side to side with strong thrusts. Their tails are flattened on the sides and have scales that stand up, similar to the blades of a propeller. This makes salties strong swimmers, capable of reaching speeds of over 18 miles per hour.
