Burns Night is a celebration of the life and works of Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns. #DidYouKnow the first-ever official public celebration of Robert Burns’ birthday took place right here in Edinburgh in 1816? It was held in the Royal Exchange building (now the City Chambers), where 100 attendees—including Sir Walter Scott—raised a glass of whisky and recited his poetry.
