A subscriber had sent in this 17-inch Dell #Alienware 17 R4 gaming laptop because the laptop had shut off while playing a game and never came back on. This looked like another dead motherboard because it shorted out the charger when it was plugged in. I opened it up and used my multimeter to measure all the power rails and check for a short. I saw a dead short on the main 19v power rail. It was time to see if I could fix this motherboard. I had to pull this board out and get it under the microsc
